April 1, 2006  SMCC Rummage clean up, Service Project 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
    Opportunity for service hours on Saturday,  We clean up after the church's Rummage Sale.  This is an official troop event.  The clean up usually takes about two hours.  Please meet at Pritchard Hall to help.  The church lets the Troop use the buildings every week, and this is our way to say "thank you very much."

April 11 Troop meeting at Bailey Canyon (it is at about 481 W. Carter):
From Sierra Madre Blvd. turn north onto Lima St. (Kentucky Fried Chicken)
Going up Lima, the street will divide. Keep - turn left--this turns into Carter Ave. Go one block to Grove.
Carter ends near the parking lot entrance of the Park. ( Lima St. is 3 blocks East of Michillinda, with a stop sign.)

July 16 to 22 , 2006 Holcomb Valley BSA Summer Camp 6 nights 4 mile hike. 1 h Service
Holcomb Valley Scout Ranch is near Big Bear.  Link. History and  Camp's Flyer.  Open to Scouts of all Ranks! Highly trained and energetic BSA staff are getting ready for the 2006 Summer BSA Camp. Please Contact me, Dave, if you would like to join us for “The Ultimate Adventure in Scouting” at Holcomb Valley Scout Ranch.   Scouts will have opportunities to work on Merit Badges (4 or more) and a host of other optional activities -- see flyer (swimming, ranges, horses, ranching and more) Includes tents and 17 great meals and a camp T-shirt.  We depart SMCC Sunday at 1:30pm and return home Sat. around 2:30pm. Cost: Deposit of $60.00. Total cost $250.00 per Scout if paid in full by April 29,  $275.00 with the balance paid by June 9, 2006.  Checks are to  BSA,  $60.00 is refundable only for Medical excuses only. Parents are welcomed (by not required) to attend the week or just a day. August 12 to 20,  2006 The Troop will have a week long backpacking trip to the Eastern Sierra Mountains.   Troop 373 is leading this week long summer camp. Deposit to attend.
The trip will be out of Bishop, starting at North Lake and ending at South Lake.  Out of the six traditional trips on the John Muir Trail, this one ranks as the fifth easiest, with 6 being the easiest.  It travels over some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the country.
To be eligible for this trip:
      1. You must have been in the troop one year, AND
      2. You must have attended a summer base camp or backpacking trip with the troop OR you must have attended
      at least one weekend backpack with the troop or your patrol.   The Hoegees trip coming up this month would be
      fine.
The Forest Service has limited group size to 15, 3 adults and 12 scouts.  Spots will be assigned on a first come first
saved basis.  Don't miss out on this great experience.  We expect the total cost to be between $200 and $300.  To
secure your spot, get a check for $100 to Troop Treasurer, The check should be made out to Troop 373.
