         RSVP with the current rank your scout holds.
2) If you have not  turned in a completed the BSA Medical form for your scout please bring it.

Troop 373 Under 1st Class overnight camp for Ranks: Scout (new) Tenderfoot and 2nd Class.

When: August 24 – 25, 2012  Friday to Sat. Friday night, starting at 5:00pm to Saturday 11:30 am
                                 (You may depart sooner in the morning if you need to)

What: Scouts will set up camp - tents, cook dinner and breakfast to complete work on Rank. Rank advance will continue after breakfast to 11:30am.

Cost: $15.00 person for two meals and the overnight camping (or  $4.00 per Dinner or $2.00 Breakfast if not camping.) Cash or check to Troop 373 when you arrive.   If parking over night pay for parking at the gate of $5.00.

Where:  Monrovia Canyon Park, Fireman's Flat, at the top - end of Monrovia Canyon Park.          Photo of entrance    Do not go to Camp Trask (a right turn), keep left to the  top-end of the road, there is the Monrovia Canyon Park Nature Center and its parking lot. This lot is for Fireman's Flat also.  Across the parking lot from the Nature Center is the Fireman's Flat group camping/picnic area. Park map link, note the Nature Center and Fireman's Flat are in the lower left corner of the map.

Who: Under 1st Class overnight camp for Rank: Scout (new) Tender foot and 2nd Class
      Parents are welcomed to stay overnight (But are Not required to) or may join us just for dinner. Parents need to bring their own tents. Scouts will use the troop tents.     Troop Guides and Instructors are invited and need to RSVP also.

Carpooling:   If you can give rides to camp let me know. If your Scout needs a ride to camp let me know.  Carpooling meets a SMCC parking lot at 4:20pm.

Park Gate: The Park Gate locks at 5pm Friday and is opened at 7am on Sat.  A gate lock code in needed if coming or departing after or before this time. Code will be give later.

Bring: Scout handbook, sleeping bag and sleeping pad, Water and what 10 ESSENTIALS you may have on hand.

Do not store any food in tents !

Come in Class A, but change to class B as soon as you arrive.

The Scout (10) ESSENTIALS

Anytime you hike, bike, backpack or venture into the wilderness, remember to always carry the Scout (10) Essentials:

____ 2. Map & Compass (map often provided by the Troop) (BSA type Compass see below)
____ 3. Flashlight/batteries
____ 4. Knife, pocket
____ 5. First Aid Kit, small   (Medication if any you are taking)
____ 6. Extra Clothing  (Jacket)      (and - or rain poncho/solar blanket )
____ 7. Trail food - (and if told to Matches) not for this camp
____ 8. Sunscreen/Sunglasses
____ 9. Rain Gear - Also can be two large trash bags or rain poncho/solar blanket
___ 10. Whistle (and Mirror unbreakable)

Even though there are more than ten items the troop's scout essentials, are often cited as the 10 Essentials. Each scout shall be responsible for having in their possession the required Scout Essentials at each camp-out or hike activity of the troop unless advised otherwise by their junior or adult leader.
