Tiger Cubs is a family oriented program for the first grade or 7 year-old
boy and an adult partner, who participates with him. The program stresses
fun,
activity, and positive relationship building between
the boy and the adult as well as his Tiger Cub Den.
The boy and the adult are introduced to Scouting and
strongly encouraged to graduate to Cub Scouts. Each
Tiger Cub den is part of a Cub Scout Pack.
The Tiger Cub program is designed to introduce the
boys and their adult partners to Cub Scouting. Each
boy/adult pair selects a theme from one of 17 "Big
Ideas." They serve as hosts for a Big Ideas, which
can a Den meeting and/or could be a field trip. The Tiger Cub and his
family are also encouraged to attend the monthly Cub
Scout pack meeting.
The Tiger Cub uniform consists of a special
orange
T-shirt. A optional Tiger Cub cap is
also available.

Pack 47 Tiger Page with all the Big Ideas listed from the Tiger Book
The Tiger Cub program is designed with a minimum of organization. There are 17 big ideas. Built around each big idea are activities that you and your boy can do, and activities for the Tiger Cub group as whole. The important thing to remember is that you and your group can choose which big ideas you want to pursue and when. There is no requirement to complete any certain number of big ideas in any certain order, or length of time. Choose what you want, what looks exciting and what looks helpful to you.
The Boy Scouts of America wants you and your boy to:
1.Have fun together.
2.Know one another.
3.Grow together.
