Selling Popcorn in Troop 373 is optional, there are some
benefits to selling popcorn:
1) Teaching salesmanship skills to our scouts (like:
politeness, courage, the ability to politely accept no for an answer and
the joy of making a sale) .
2) Helps keep Troop 373 membership dues low.
4) Promotes Scouting in the community (uniform)
5) Can support US military service men and women.
6) Scouts enjoy earning Popcorn sale prizes.
7) Basic accounting skills, sold, paid, how much to next prize level..
8) Consider finding a Scout buddy and sell door to door. Scouts gets every other sale.
7) A Scout is LOYAL, by selling BSA products.
Deadline: Oct. 17 – Monday, All orders sheets must be be turned in
November 12 Sat. – Popcorn will be available for pick up at Church at Pancake Breakfast

Military Donations have changed, as Firefighters have been added, this is now called: American Heroes Donation.

POPCORN KICK OFF
It s that time of year again to start selling popcorn. This is a great
way for each Pack or Troop to raise money for
themselves. Some of the other reasons to sell popcorn, are, an increase
of community awareness of Scouting, Scouts
learn selling skills, it is a confidence builder, and an opportunity
for scouts to earn many prizes.
Wear your uniform when selling.
Our Council is asking that all Scouts sell
at least ONE item and have
advised the following Prizes and Incentives:
Why a Popcorn Sale?
A major source of income for both our Troop and the Council – great commissions for the Troop
Opportunity for Scouts to earn gift certificates
Increases community awareness of Scouting
Scouts learn selling skills and responsibility by earning money for their unit programs

Prizes and Incentives:
Scouts who sell at least one unit of popcorn will receive a patch.
Where to Sell?
Workplace, church, neighborhood, store location
Door to door (only with at least two Scouts and/or adult in attendance)
Selling Information:
Wear scout uniform and never enter people’s homes
Always go with another scout and/or adult
Collect money at time of order, if you can. Make checks payable to “Troop 373”.
Say ‘”Thank You for the order – see you next year”
