Meet in Front of the office - Gift Shop

Go North on Baldwin turn right on to Highland, go 2 and half blocks, on the North side of the street, behind the orange trees is E. Waldo Ward & Son, Inc.

Tucked behind the residential section of a quiet and tree lined street lies a hidden gem of Sierra Madre history and local lore. Going down a dirt drive past a quaint old Victorian and iconic red barn, one enters the gift shop that starts the tour of history and local lore. The business, E. Waldo Ward & Son, is a gourmet specialty foods maker. See were bottles of packaged gems of marmalade, raspberries, cherries, and blackberries are made.

Founded in 1891 by E. Waldo Ward, who saw the promise of the fertile land and decided to build a business. He purchased a plot of 10 acres, which quickly expanded to 30; Ward purchased two orange trees for an orchard that eventually numbered 600 trees. Amazingly, the original trees remain. While the property is only a portion of its original size, business prospects remain as plentiful as the orchards which once graced the land.
