Bird Study Merit Badge Requirements:
1) Come to Arboretum Class on June 18, be prepared to be quite.
2) Homework to do before day of class or after class.:
#2 Show that you are familiar with the terms used to describe
birds by sketching or tracing a perched bird and then labeling 15 different
parts of the bird.
Sketch or trace an extended wing and label six types of wing feathers.

sheet for this requirement #2 will be given to scouts)
Note:
We will start #2 at 8:15pm in front of the Arboretum.
#8 Do ONE of the following (at home, before or after class). For the option you choose, describe what birds you hope to attract, and why.
a. Build a bird feeder and put it in an appropriate
place in your yard or another location.
b. Build a birdbath and put it in an appropriate
place (can be a upside down trash can lid that you keep filled with
fresh water in your backyard).
c. Build a backyard sanctuary for birds by planting
trees and shrubs for food and cover.
