Hi,

Here is more info that will be useful to your Cherry Valley camping, some info that is not in the booklet:

Add to items to bring:

You must have the Medical Form (BSA Class 1) for each scout and adult going.
Also a BB shooting and Archery consent form.

Clothes line or light rope about 8 feet long for wet towels and swim suits, none are at Cherry Valley, we are not
allowed to touch the government protected Cherry trees. So we must put up our Clothes lines from tent pole to tent
pole.

Remember to bring a white T shirt for each person attending, we will silk screen the camp logo on the back of them,

Bringing a Compass and/or snorkeling gear is optional, they will be provide for at camp if/when needed.

Weather: It is nice to warm in the day and cool at night.  At and near the water front it is nice during the day. As we
go up the valley to the tent area it can be warm in the afternoon. I hope we will get tents under shade tree, these
tents are nice even in the afternoon. If not, we are not at the tents in the afternoon very long anyway, just to change
for the water front activities..

Each tent sleeps two, it has two cots with a met.  The tent opens to a deck and a picnic table.

So... plan on dressing for warm temp in the day (Hat, sunglasses, sun block (short sleeves and pants if you like).  At
night a light jacket, or sweater is needed for the cool evening campfire activity. (You will need a den skit
for the last night).

It is a distance from the water front and dining hall to the tents up the valley. I take a light back pack that can get a
little dirty to carry things you may need during the day, to save trips to the tents.

Speaking of dirt, your bags and sleeping bag will be set down in the dirt two times (at the Twin Harbor assembly area
and near your tent). A truck will take the bags to the camp. We will help take the bags from the boat to the truck,
about one short block.  So be sure to double wrap your sleeping bag (and pillow if you are bringing one) in a heavy
duty plastic trash bag.  Your duffle bag (one large preferred, two small will do also) will get a little dirty but you can
hose it off when you get home. Remember to put a red ribbon on all your bags to mark them as Cherry Valley bags,
also put your name and phone number on them also.

Other info.

Most Cell phones work at Cherry Valley, if you bring one just use them so as not to disturb other campers. If your family has an emergency they can call the Cherry Valley hot line 310-510-9507.  A pay phone is at camp for out going
calls.  In the proram office is power strip to charge phone..

We will carpool to Port more info on this to come.

Best Regards,   Dave
