Greetings,

As your new Leader, I want to say I am excited and looking forward to having a great time of learning and fun this year in our Den. We will be working on achieving our Wolf Badge by following the Wolf trail in our Wolf Cub Scout Book.

Let me know if your would like to be the Den Leader or assistant Den leader and/or a Den helper. We need at least one adult helper each meeting. I also need to know who I can call on in case we need a last minute helpers for a Den meeting.

We well be meeting each Tuesday eve at 7:00pm. The first meeting will be Sept. in the Old North Church. The last Tuesday of each month will be a Pack meeting. In Pack meeting the whole family is encouraged to come and see the awards ceremony and discuss upcoming activities.

In our Den meetings we will start by reviewing the Bobcat trail 1 to 7. This is found on pages 17 to 36 in your Wolf book. Please review this section before our fisrt meeting with your scout at home and signed off section 1 to 8 at the completion of each section on the Akela's Ok line. See the parent guide in the front of the Wolf book for the Do Your Best completion guide lines, page 9. Please have this done by Sept. 21 so your scout will receive His Bobcat badge the pack meeting.

Then in Oct. we will start the Wolf Trail in our book. There are 12 required Achievement. Some of these we will be completed in our Den meetings. Some will be required to be completed at home. This info will come later.

You may want to start working on Making a collection, required Achievement 6 in the Wolf book. Some ideas for a Collection are: rocks, stamps, sea shells, coins, leafs, bugs and alike.

The last half of the Wolf book is Electives, The Arrow Point Trail, that are optional. The Den will work on some Electives after finishing the 12 required Wolf Achievements. A scout may work on the Electives at home. Any arrow point awards achieved will be given after the scouts Wolf badge is awarded.

To keep you informed of Den activities, I would like to Email or Fax you bulletins. If you do not have access to an Email account or Fax, I will mail out info and/or have it available at Den meetings. If you have an Email account please send me a hello note to basargent@eathlink.net. If you have a Fax that you may receive Scout info on please leave the Phone Number on my voice mail
[If you have a PC and a modem (or LAN), but no Email account, I have Free Juno software that I can give you, that will install a 100% free Email account]
